Radix Traffic seeks European distributors at Intertraffic 2016

UK traffic technology company Radix Traffic is launching plans to establish a European network of distributors at Intertraffic 2016 next week (stand 11.127: 05-08 April 2016, Amsterdam RAI), by inviting established distributors with a proven track record in the traffic market to supply Radix vehicle detection sensors and interface cards as part of their product portfolios.

Colin Baker, Head of Business Development said: ‘Radix Traffic is looking to work with existing distributors with a good reputation in the marketplace for sales and service of traffic control products including vehicle detection technologies. As well as Europe, we are hoping to engage with potential distributors serving Asia, South America and the Gulf States as part of our business plans to increase sales of Radix vehicle detection sensors outside of the UK.’

Over 500 wired magnetometer sensors from Radix Traffic have been installed in the UK to provide accurate vehicle detection with none of the reliability issues normally associated with inductive loops, radar or video detectors.

Unlike conventional inductive loops, the sensors can be installed well below the road surface where they are protected from damage caused by bad weather and heavy traffic. Once the Radix sensor is installed it will continue to detect vehicles during its 15 year design life with no maintenance required.

As such, Radix sensors are increasingly being deployed where cost effective, accurate and high availability detection is needed. Installation is quick and simple; and with no slot cutting involved, lane closure and traffic management is not normally required.

For a growing number of access control and parking applications, the sensors are also being mounted either above or adjacent to entrance and exit ramps, delivering reliability and through life cost benefits to car park operators and site owners.

Being wired, this technology does not need regular battery replacement or costly wireless repeaters; and is rapidly becoming the detector of choice in countries as far apart as the UK and Australia.
